Tea Cup + Coaster

Design Project (January, 2015)

This design project took place during a two week assignment in which we where asked to design a Dutch tea ritual. This tea ritual was being inspired by the richness  in the process of traditional Japanese tea rituals. During this assignment we participated in a traditional Japanese tea ritual and took an iterative approach within sub-groups to designing one Dutch tea ritual. Each day this Dutch tea ritual was performed, and analysed as input for the iterative process. The physical outcome of this module was one tea set, developed by 17 students. This introduced a challenge to all of us to work structured and to communicate properly among each other.
